3 Tips to Rock the Glow Erie Fun Run 2018
The event organizers at United Service Corps have brought back the Glow Erie Fun Run for it’s fourth year in Erie, PA. This year’s family friendly event is being at held on the beautiful grounds of the Whispering Woods Golf Club in Millcreek off Grubb Road. The race course follows the first 9 holes of the golf course and is going to be a little bit of a challenge with its hilly terrain. But you can definitely count on it being a great night and you can maximize your fun with these three tips.
1: Decide if you want to run or walk.
If you want the challenge of running this race, register for the 5K run portion. It starts before sunset at 6 pm and race fees include a timing chip. Results will be posted immediately following the race and the first place male and female, overall win a prize.
If you are coming for the glow fun, register for the fun run/walk. It starts at sunset and will give you an opportunity to really take advantage of the glow effects. The night run is a truly unique experience and the Glow Erie Fun Run is the only night run this year.
2: Bring on the glow.
From LED suits to light up tutus, our favorite part of the Glow Erie Fun Run is the costumes and glow you bring to the run. Creativity runs rampant when it comes to the participants. However, don’t feel like you have to get fancy. A few glow necklaces from the dollar store and you are good to go. Plus, if you register before September 1 you get a race shirt with your registration so there is part of your wardrobe right there. Everyone who participates will get a special glow gift too.

3: Get a group of friends and family to join you.
The best thing you can do to ensure you have maximum fun at the Glow Erie Fun Run? Bring a glow gang along. One friend or your entire tribe, either way, its a blast to have a partner in crime. Many companies and groups send teams to the run, so even rope your co-workers into it.
Parents…if you have kids, the Glow Erie Fun Run let’s children under the age of 10 do the fun run for FREE with an adult registration.
BTW, if running or walking is not your thing but you still want to be a part of the fun, there are a few volunteer spots still open. Volunteers who work check in get a free t-shirt and race registration.
There’s Music and Food Too!
The number one goal of the FUN run is to have FUN so the more the merrier and the bigger the glow, the better! The Club House at Whispering Woods will be open for concessions and drinks and we’ll have the music rocking with a DJ for the pre race and post race party. Registration is open but you only have until September 1 to get a race shirt included with your registration.
